- Building Vocabulary: Review Chapter 7
- You can check your answers on line, and we will also take a few minutes before the test to discuss questions about the vocabulary.
Start the homework that the Librarian, Karen, asked you to do below:
1) General Encyclopedia:
- Look at World Book and/ or Britannica hard copy in the library or Britannica Online )
- Find your topic in one of the two books and look at how your topic is organized
- What are the sub topics? Look at the lists at the end of your topic (article)
- What sub topic looks best for you? You should choose only 1 or 2.
2) Subject specific Encyclopedia:
- Look at the book that you found from using the yellow sheet with the Library of Congress Classification system. Hopefully you wrote down the number from the spine of the book.
- What are the sub topics? Look at the lists at the end of your topic
- What sub topic looks best for you? You should choose only 1 or 2.
3) On line Library Research Online Data Bases:
- Look at your topic by choosing from the list of Research Data Bases
- Choose Access Science, Britannica or Gale Virtual Reference Library
- What sub topic looks best for you? You should choose only 1 or 2.
